I am wondering if ther is a law against a store refusing to let some use the restroom.I hope no one is offended but it is mostly people of Indian descent doing the refusing.I had an experience recently.i needed to use the bathroom really bad at the store and i was told i had to buy something first.I was about to pee on myself while trying to buy something I could afford.I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A LAW.comments please.Thanks.

There SHOULD be a law. I understand that there are practical and logistical difficulties with maintaining public facilities whether private or municipal but the FACT IS:

bathroom privieges are the very base of common decency and a civilized society should have this service available at all times as an unalienable right. Imagine a traveler needing to go and turning them away... I would deserve to be in hell for such indiscretion.

this issue has always irked me no end.

I think there should be a law, too! Unfortunately, most of those places that you refer to are run only by a few people and thus many government regulations do not apply to them. If it were me, I would have "accidentally" tripped over a shelf after I was done with the bathroom so I could sue them for a dangerous environment. Or, if I had the nerve (and I don't think I would) I might have just had the accident on their floor so they'd have to clean it up. That would serve them right.

I typically won't do business with most foreigners because they lack the standards that most native born American business owners have. If I want to be treated poorly by a shop owner, then I'll catch a plane and go to their country. But when I'm in my country, I expect to be treated with my country's standards. If they can't comprehend this, then they should move back home.

I've been to a gas station before run by people of non-Indian decent that wouldn't allow a little girl to use the restroom. She was with her mother and it was obvious it was an emergency but they didn't allow it. I thought it was pretty mean. I know that in all restaurant locations there needs to be a public restroom available but I'm not sure it's a law in stores!!!

It has nothing to do with race. There are just alot of places that do not have public restrooms. I agree, tho, everyplace should have a public restroom, a clock (in case you forgot your watch!) and a payphone (remember those?... just in case your cell dies!)
