How cold? I knew a guy who wintered over at the South Pole for a year. He went jogging every day, good weather and bad, in temperatures down to -80 C. It didn't do him any harm. "Eskimo lung", burning your lungs with cold air, is mostly a myth.

How cold is extremely cold? I live in Ottawa Canada, and in EXTREME cold weather (-20 Celsius with wind chill factors taking the temperature down much further), weather warnings will be on the radio and in the media advising people to limit their time outside.
If the temperatures are in the 0 Celsius / 32 Fahrenheit regions, walking to work is certainly doable, as long as you dress for it - wear sturdy boots, if possible, and a spare pair of socks if they are not insulated. Layers are usually the best option in colder weather so that you can remove them as you warm up, and add them as you cool down. A hat that covers your ears is an essential, since most of your heat loss is through your head, and a scarf around your neck will give you a place to thaw out your nose from time to time! (Don't use an acrylic one - cotton or wool are MUCH better as the moisture from your breath is absorbed into the natural fibres rather than accumulating on the surface of artificial fibres) Finally, mittens are better than gloves as your fingers will help keep each other warm if they are all together.
Of course, temperature is relative, what seems like a warm winter day to me can be extreme cold for someone else who is not used to the temperatures. Ultimately, it will come down to whether you can dress yourself up warm enough to be able to continue your morning walk.... I hope that this has helped....

Not a problem even down to minus 40 degrees. But be careful of freezing your respiratory system. Extremely cold air can cause damage. The precaution is to “preheat” the air taken in. A scarf will help or the white dust masks work even better to mix the exhaled hot air with the frigid inhaled air.

You'll be okay, so long as you have a couple of peices of chocolate, before your walk.... Chocolate warms the body, for some reason, and I dont advise eating it in the summer's! And as long as you, bundle up really good!! Like, wear a ski mask, and a cloak, and a beenie cap, and a hooded thick Coat!! Boots, and the like, you know!! Walking is so good for your cardiovascular, you already know this, so dont let the cold, make you quit!! Just get your blood sugar up a bit,, with some good dark chocolate!! Dark chocolate, has antioxidant's in it too!! Have fun!! I love my walks!! There so Therapeutic, for me!!! Smile!!!
