Why do Americans and Canadians like Australian football so much?

I'm an Aussie, I personally think that the sport is overrated.

There's a few reasons:

1) No pads
2) People get clothes-lined when going for the ball
3) The officials wear funny clothes and make amusing gestures when somebody scores

And most importantly:

4) It's the most violent team sport we've ever seen
