When melatonin works for me, it helps me to fall asleep and stay asleep for 6-8 hours. I usually don't wake up in the middle of the night when I have taken it.

Try Melatonin, you can buy it in the health food stores or the vitamin shop. Your body produces this naturally, it's what puts you to sleep at night. But sometimes we need some help. I use it myself and I find within a half hour after taking it I get drowsy and I fall asleep and stay asleep. Next morning there is no drowsiness and I slept well so I feel better during the day. I don't like using drugs there are too many side effects and they are too addictive. Sleep is important to your mind, body and spirit so I wish you a good healthy nights sleep.

Melatonin is a hormone made naturally in our bodies, and which tends to decline as we age. Therefore, the older you are, the more likely Melatonin will be helpful...and the younger you are, the less likely that it will help.

The other factors to consider is...Are there any other reasons why you are not sleeping? Is your bed OK? Are you stressed? Are there health reasons that are waking you up? Etc. Melatonin "helps" your body get ready for sleep. It does not MAKE you sleep. Therefore, if you have other physical reasons for NOT sleeping, Melatonin will not be much help.
