We're going this weekend with the family and would like to eat outside of the lodge since I've read the food there is overpriced and not too good. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Your best bet would be to go to Niagara Falls where you will find lots of places to eat. I recommend the Beef Baron. They have great steaks.

Restaurants Near Great Wolf Lodge

A great place to go is Basell's Restaurant on Victoria Ave. It's on the same street as the Great Wolf Lodge, just head south, it's south of Bridge St. (traffic lights at that intersection) on your left.

The portions are good size, the prices are reasonable, and the food quality is good. Plus, it's a locally-owned and operated establishment, not some American-owned chain looking to gouge every tourist it can.

I'd advise against going to any name-brand restaurants even close to the Falls, as they're all VERY expensive, and the waiting time can get long.

The area along Lake Ontario between Grimsby and St. Catharines has become a noted wine growing area in the past 30 years and like in other wine growing areas the development of upscale and other fine restaurants has followed, some located at the wineries, others in the towns. Also, Niagara-On-The-Lake, being a sophisticated resort, has several delicious places.
