If you mean who's the most famous person alive today, hands down the President of the United States. In this case, the nicknames say it all...The Leader of the Free World, Most Powerful man on Earth...Because the decisions and policies that come from the White House will in most cases have a direct or indirect effect on nearly every country and economy on earth, more people around the world of every race and nationality can name the President of the U.S. , than any other single individual.
Not always respected or liked, but everybody knows him, no matter who has the office at the time.
Historical figure is Jesus Christ, world wide name recognition on that one, too
