As long as I can remember my periods have always been on a 28 day cycle. I have 4 children now and after I had my last son they have been anywhere from 30 to 32 cycles is this normal? And how long can you go between cycles for example the average is 28 days my are 32 so how long can a cycle really be. So I guess my question is should I be worried that my cycles have changes this dramtic since I had my last baby? My baby is 7 months old so this has not been going on that long but I would just like some advice or some opinions on the subject. Thank you very much.

I just thought that you might want to know I do not nurse and I have never been on birth control pills or any form of birth control.

No you shouldn't be worried.

I just had a baby four months ago and my cycle has changed dramatically too. It used to be five days now it is eight and much heavier. It used to be 28 days and now it is all over the place, some times 30 but last month is was like 40!

I went into the doctor and she said it was normal especially after having a baby. YOur body needs time to get back on a schedule. And with the hormones still there, they are still upsetting our natural time cycle.

She said just give it time or try birth control because that will help regulate it.

After having a baby, your period can do crazy things and change even permanently. Plus, only about 10-15% of women ovulate when they should and it can throw off a period. My OB told me any cycle between 28-38 days is still considered normal and safe for a women. Any shorter or any longer there is a slight risk for infections or something may be wrong. So you are still in the average. After I had my daughter I would only get my period every other month (it ran roughly a 45 day cycle) and they ran tests and I was fine, my period was just screwy! It was hard to figure out LMP for this pregnancy and when I concieved though lol! You're fine! If you are worried or just feel something is wrong, make an appt with your Gyno. No one knows better than them! Good Luck either way!!

A 30 -32 day cycle isn't unusual. But if your cycle has changed you should discuss it with your gynecologist. It is probably nothing to worry about, but it is always best to seek professional advice. If you are breastfeeding that could be the reason your cycle has changed. Were you on the pill when you had the 28 day cycles? If so and you aren't on the pill now then that is probably the reason. The pill will artificially put you on a 28 day cycle.

no you should not be worried that your cycle has changed. This can happen without having a baby ley alone everything your body goes through when you do have a baby. Plus it is only a 4 day change, this is still considered normal. Some people have 36 day cycles and are considered normal. AS always you can talk to your dr about this whom i will assure you will tell you that you ar eprefectly normal.

I would ask your OBGYN if you are that concerned but I will tell you my experience. My cycles have always been long, about 32 days. I have 3 children and had an ep 2 years ago. Since then, my cycles have varied. I have since had as short as 28 days and as long as 37 days.

To my knowledge anywhere from 28-34 days is pretty normal. Like the other person said as long as its on a cycle and not all over the place, sounds ok to me...
Good Luck!!

I was irregular until i had a miscarriage nearly 2 years ago. After that my periods settled into a nice 38-40 day cycle.

As long as its a cycle thats all that matters.

I don't know if having children changes your cycle, but I know as you get older things change. I was told that by a dr. My cycle was doing some crazy things before I got pregnat with #3 (I'm 9wks)
I was told not to worry that it was normal, but to ease your mind I would ask a dr.
