To become an astronaut, a degree in a subject such as engineering, science or medicine is essential, and astronauts often also have a postgraduate qualification and at least three years' relevant employment experience. Entrants sometimes also have experience as pilots in the Armed Forces.
European astronauts are based at the European Astronaut Centre in Germany
or
America's NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston
or save 20 million dollars and ask the russians

Here's another take--
"Space" is defined by the US as beginning at 80 kilometers above sea level (that's about 50 miles). If you fly in an aircraft that high, you earn your astronaut wings. Eight pilots from the X-15 program made it that high without being in a conventional spacecraft.
(The space boundary recognized by other countries is 100 kilometers, or about 62 miles.)

Great question. Pity some of the brain deads on this site dont understand that it may be a child asking the question. Like someone said I would imagine you become a pilot first. However there maybe some details on Nasa.com . Best of luck

You would need to go to Uni and study computer science as well as a degree in a science like astronomy, biology etc in order for you to do research. If you write to NASA they will let you know wht is required.
Lots of people want this so you have to be in top percent of population intellectually.
Or raise a few hundred thou pounds and pay the Russians to put you up, they do this as a comercial venture

air force. or navy, I think you need the air force tho. But you will just start as a pilot and make your way up from them, It takes years to become an astronaut or to even qualify to become one.

standing outside our house with a kite would be a great start !
f*****g windy today, eh ?
Some universities run Space Schools in the summer for 6th formers. You might try that.
Alternatively you've got to be top of your field in physics etc.

Stick to being a space cadet. You need far fewer qualifications.
