This is an answer from a writer. Don't! They ask for 45% of your profit. You must get your books to their stores and if not sold, pay for getting them returned to you. This company distroyed many small book stores and then with the power of being a lone market they took advantage of the writers. They also own Coles. If you become a best seller than they will talk to you. Get into a chain store such as Save On Foods who have a book section. You will sell far more here than at Chapters.

Check out the How to get Published book that Chapters has had on the shelves for a few months now, gray paper back...it's put out by them and shows authors how to work with Chapters/Indigo in getting your books on their shelves.

The one link they give for this is http://iuniverse.com/?cr=ca (Canada), iuniverse.com (USA), I'm sure they have info on getting already printed books, onto the shelves also, I haven't taken a good look at this yet although I've bought the book which was printed using this particular method of publication.

Good luck

Ask. Some booksellers allow individual managers to carry local authors, and I am assuming that Ottowa is close to you (?) so approach that store in person. Offer to do a promotional book signing on a Saturday afternoon. The stores love this action, because it brings people into the store. If it does well there, that manager may support efforts to expand the circulation.

If individual managers aren't allowed to do this, get him/her to help you find out who the buyer/contractor is, and send a complimentary copy of the book with a promotional inquiry on their stocking procedures.

it depends what your topic is because if you are talking about your life you can put in chapters by starting from the beginning of your life into right now or just keep going on to the furture if you know what your life is going to be like that's the best thing i can tell you how to put your book in chapters...TAKE CARE!!!!!!

Can you get a larger publishing company to do it for you? You should find an agent.

You'll have to sub-divide your book into different topics and then turn it into chapters.....:)
