Ok here is what you should try:

1. Turn off the TV, computer, radio and anything active atleast an hour before you intend to get some sleep.
2. Try reading a good book, go to the library or something and get something that interests you.
3. Drink chamomile or sleepytime tea before you go to bed. Some people prefer a warm glass of milk.
4. If all else fails you can look into trying melatonin it is a natural sleep-aid that is not addictive. My bf tried that and he sleeps all through the night.
5. Try listening to soothing classical or jazz music.
6. Some people like the sound of a fan or sounds of nature (you can find on an alarm clock).
7. If all of these things fail you, you might want to check with your doctor about getting some lunesta or something.

Good luck!

If you are not a big exerciser, I would try working out a little in the evening. It doesn't have to me anything major - Yoga or Pilates really stretches out your muscles and realxes them. Take a bath or shower. The warm water is another good way to relax your muscles, clear your mind and calm you for bed.
Another thing I would suggest is make your room sleep-friendly.
->If you have a TV or computer in your room, limit your usage of them or stop using them about 2-3 hours before going to bed. Your body becomes accustomed to those stimuli and when you enter your room, your body is thinking that it must stay up, be alert and active.
->Figure out if warmth or coolness makes you sleepy. Everyone is different, so you may have to play around with this one...then adjust your bedroom temperature to make it nice and toasty or on the chilly side.
->Don't do activities in bed. Similar to my first suggestion, your body will get confused if you watch TV, read, do homework, talk on the phone, etc. while you are in bed. It is harder for your mind to shut down.

If all else fails, you could always pick the subject that you find the most boring and imagine that teacher giving you lesson after lesson...rambling, making lame jokes....that should put you to sleep! :-D Good luck!

First of all, stop and caffinated drinks after 2pm. Secondly, try to go light on eating about 3 hours before bed and don't excercise late at night either.
Set a routine for bed, and stick to it. if you are in bed longer than 25 minutes and cannot sleep- then get up. because you start to associate bed with restlessness. Get up, read a boring book, watch an informercial...something that will make you drowsy.
Another thing you can try to assist you in sleep is take 8 ounces of warm milk and add 1 tsp of honey (stir well). There is a chemical reaction that occurs and creates a natural sleep aid.

Exercise so you body is tired and gets some sort of "release" out during the day, also dont read or watch t.v. in bed and whats really weird for me is if i turn upside down and put my head where my feet go and try to fall asleep that way it always works for me. Though I dont know why.

When you couldn't sleep, try waking up and get some book that really make you bored. Continue reading and eventually your eyes will fell tired and you will sleep. If that didn't work, try drinking hot milk or get a nice bath. If that also didn't work, try the traditional way of counting the sheep.

Also... stick to being up with the sun and sleep when the sun is down. Of course don't eat anything with caffeine in it, not even in the morning including chocolate.

Also, sometimes you can't sleep before periods. This is very common.

i think u seldom or never exercise besides studying at school.anyway u still can try this way;whenever u r on bed, straighten ur legs, put ur hands beside ur body, face up n stare at the ceiling(prefered white color) n feel relax there.then try to think ur head underneath is pillow, pillow cover, what's pillow color n so on,try to think it hard(don't turn ur head) everything underneath ur head, very soon u w'd automatically fall asleep.of course there should be no outside disturbances.

best wishes.

Talk to your doctor
but

All sleeping problems relate to that your spirit need you in one direction and your body go the other.

Talk to God as well. (study religions like christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism)
