It was incredibly mean for him to compare that guy to a monkey. It isn't his fault he has larger eyes than the rest of us, and it shouldn't be used against him. As a judge on the American Idol show, Simon Cowell is allowed to criticize their singing, but not their facial features. I think Simon Cowell ought to give an apology to the person which he so rudely compared with a monkey.

It's funny when Simon tells people how bad of a singer they are, or how they don't have the idol look or what ever. I just don't like to see him make fun of people who are obviously disabled either mentally or physically. Sometimes it is hard to tell though if someone has a mild disability or if they are normal and really don't know how bad they are. At least Simon is for equal rights!! No matter who you are or where you are from he will tell you the truth about your singing!!

I love the show, don't get me wrong... But I thought it was incredibly cruel for Simon to say that. The situation could have been handled better.
There was no need to insult the boy like he did. He could have made fun of his singing, but to say what Simon said... That was unnecessary, extremely unprofessional, and COLD. Is he going to drive someone to suicide before he realizes he has a heart beating in his chest?

He didn't - he said he looked like a jungle animal, but didn't give the name. The only one I could think of was a lemur, with the big eyes, but yeah, bush baby is closer.

Well that was something else and a real laugh. Leave it to Cowell LOL and the poor guy on the end of it. With his bulging eyes, he did look abit strange. Similar to a bushbaby LOL

i think that he is a good guy. i mean there are thousands of people that compete for the next american idol. and its only fair that the best make it to the top. he helps to determine the best. the other judges put through singers that are horrible just to get a good laugh out of it and simon would rather give a good singer a chance instead and really i dont blame him. he is a great role model and he is quite charming actually. =)

It wasn't mean, it was bluntly honest. Cause it was the truth... I feel bad for him, but he does look like a monkey!
