According to the Bible, we are on the brink every day. We don't know when it's coming, and can't predict it, though scientists would like to think they can.
As far as global warming, it's a theory derived by our governments, and it's just another money grab. Our government's hunger for money is what is going to kill the human race. If the U.S. would leave international oil supplies alone, there would be half the wars that are raging.
Our wonderful Earth is going through it's series of natural occurances. I have seen a video from independant scientists saying what is happening to the earth is not from global warming. The earth has gone through these same experiences thousands of years ago.
But it wouldn't hurt for our animals' sakes to live cleaner, less selfish lives. I would like my children and grandchildren to know the beautiful animals we all grew up with.

I would say sure there are threats that will lead us to think there is a doomsday coming, but I don't think there is more of a threat today than there ever was. Today, if something happens in the World, we know it within a few minutes... no matter where it is happening. It just seems like more is going on today than ever before. But, before, we didn't know about half the things that were going on. As for climate change, it is happening all the time. Our world goes through so many cycles in climate change... most of which is not noticed by us because Mother Nature's clock ticks at a very much slower rate than we do. The cycles can come and go in centuries. This warming is something that happens every ten years or so. But that is not to say that we don't have the threat of a huge global change in weather or in a threat of another nuclear conflict. As long as man has control of weapons like nuclear warheads, we are always in danger. Hot headed and opinionated that we are.

Is the human race on the brink?
Such a question should not be asked! We all know that the world is coming in to an end one day, but when it ends! what are the signs and how? is the real question. Yes in my opinion the world is coming into an end and much closer to what we imagine. Many signs have been viewed in the last decade and since the begining of this Century.
- Wars
- Tsunami, Earthquakes, Hurricanes & Floods
- Air & Traffic Accidents
- Too many lawyers and judges
- Man acting like a women and vise versa
- Crime against humanity
- Animal distinct
- Hungers
- Floods
- Deserts people live in buildings and higher places
- Unknown Diseases
- etc..
If we look closer to what is happening out there to Mother Nature, we will believe that the time has come.

Has any one watched the documentary " An unconventional truth " narrated by Al Gore. Climate change is very scary and we have caused it all. Governments ignored it for years until of course it was already too late. We sometimes forget how fragile earth is. It is very unfortunate to see that some humans have a destructive, angry and revengeful attitude. Is war, guns, bombs and nuclear power necessary to live with one another on the same planet? Some humans seem to think that the all time answer is violence and destruction to teach lessons or to get revenge, power on a country or simply a selfish desire to get what they want. Why are we doing that for? No, i don't think that the humans race is on the brink just yet. Yes i think that we will be doomed if those whom seem to cause the more trouble don't Wake up and realize that there is LOTS to lose if we don't take care of our home, EARTH. Every human soul should start making changes to save us all from what could be a terrible faith.

Most definitely the human race is on the brink. It's funny how it takes the release of Al Gore's documentary for enough people to actually start noticing now. Example: The Ice that they've recently been freaking out over after having broken off of Antarctica, that's the second one to have done that, and we've also lost a major Ice Shelf as well! Scientists have been telling us all this for decades and we've chosen to ignore it because it would mean less money for the fat cats and politicians in the long run and well we all know that's a no no, also it would force industries such as the automotive industry to produce more efficient vehicles, which on one hand will help to keep emissions out of our atmosphere but also it would mean a drop in the amount of fuel consumption and vehicle costs which again we know that too would be a no no for the Politicians and Oil companies. I think we just need to wait for this "Baby Boomer" generation to finish dying off so we can start repairing the damage from them and their parents. As long as people from that generation are still alive they won't allow any changes to anything because it would mean a drop in their pockets and they frankly don't care about the state of the planet today because it won't effect them soon, and they'll be gone by the time it starts to get more serious.
For those of you that have not watched An Inconvenient Truth, WATCH IT, and start LEARNING!! This is a much more serious situation then the media is letting on right now. If those areas of Greenland and the Antarctica melt we're going to be losing ALOT of land mass and land is the one thing they're not making anymore of people!! What do you think is going to happen when HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of people are suddenly displaced?! Or the hundreds of millions of people that will die as a result?

After reading The Ingenuity Gap by, Thomas Homer Dixon, I would have to say it is hard to tell if we are doomed or not. We definitely need to be on the safe side because things that we are doing now won't be showing the effects any time soon... It will be our children's children that will start to see the effects.
Nature has a way of balancing itself out in a every chaotic way, (through constant flux). Basically there is no true equilibrium where everything is perfect. There is no argument that we have played around with nature, and that things have changed for the worse.
Lets all do our parts to cut down on the damage we are doing to this Earth.
As for the nuclear war. Only through having clear communication, better education, and higher quality of life world wide will this kind of threat disappear.
*I don't aprove of the actions, but I understand why these things SOMETIMES happen*
When people are backed into a corner, they sometimes do drastic things. Having a corrupt government, poor living conditions, and/or poor education system leads to people doing things on a level others can't understand, (terrorism and/or basic crime). This is a huge reason our troops have to stay in the Middle East. To create a base on which these people can have stable ground to stand on, (the stable ground being a government for the people).
*If you are wondering... I don't agree 100% with why troops are there, and I think the U.S. needs to make some adjustments as well.*
There is great need for the U.S. to work on it's education, and health care.
I have gone off topic here and there, but I feel it all loosely fits in.

"If we ARE doomed, then it's because media outlets controlled by the corporate elite have doomed us!"
I wonder... if Global is such a big issue and it threatens the survival of our species... why do the government not see the urgency to do anything about it? They have the power to raise taxes and they should have the power to change our power to an alternative source. Just like they did in LA back in the 90s with the electric cars. Sure, there is big money to make in oil blah blah blah... but what benefit will it have if they can't survive long enough to reap the benefit from the money?
Have you ever wonder about recycling? I watched How It's Made the other day. only 1% of what we recycle can be recycled. And the process causes more pollution than it helps recycling.
So, is there a conspiracy here? I want to know.
The media is constantly blowing information out of proportion ALL the time and it makes you and I worry about everything. "Run for your lives and epidemic is growing... There has been numerous earthquakes..." Maybe the Bible is right...instead of year 2000 where we'll face Apocalypse, we'll hit it a little later. BULL!!!
Get a freaken grip!
Get together and make your government to use alternative source people. Don't sit around and rant and rave and not do anything about it.

I think it's silly to think so catasrophically and pessimissically. Throughout history, human's have come across great tradgedies and challenges yet we've survived the ice age and been around for over 10 000 years. Now, I know that this amount of time in evolutionary histroy is but a blink of an eye to mother nature. However, humans are highly adaptable and excellent problem solvers. Not to mention we are a very social and intelligent species. (That's not to say that we haven't made some very poor choices, but hey, how can you learn if you never make mistakes?)
If we can get through ice ages and great plauges, why can't we survive something that is of our own causing? Of course the Earth's climate is constantly changing, and sometimes even drastically throughout geological history. Despite this fact, there is no doubt in my mind that human's have wrecked the natural environment and are contributing to global warming. Extreme climate change due to human ignorance is something that has primarily come about following the industrial revolution. This is not something that is beyond repair. There have been mant recent scientific and technological advances in the battle to save our environment, (think alternative sources of energy and hybrid or even hydrogen cars).
As far as "second nuclear age", this just has to do with the Americans really who put a facist puppet in power. The political climate in the States is changing and the public are speaking out. Although I believe that our neighbours to the South are a little gun crazy, I do not think that they will allow the obviously pointless and colonialist war to continue for much longer. Too many great young men and women are dying for a battle over money and power that will fall into the hands of an elite few. This is of no benefit to the people in the Middle East or those in North America, contrary to what the Bush Administration would have us believe. I see some paralells to the war in Vietnam. What do you think? American's didn't put up with that for too long.
The entire world is against Bush's agenda. Doesn't it say something that they are breaking international law and have no concern about it? The UN said no but they didn't listen.
I believe that if we all come together as a collective society we can solve these problems that we have created.

We always have been. The human race, in my opinion came from some mould at the bottom of some crappy bog, that learned to walk. We are so insinificant when it comes to planetary or even universal issues. Nuclear threat is real for us, as well as epidemics, which are reproducing at extraordinary rates, and weather has been acting funny since forever.
When it comes down to it, I think that the earth is going to get shmucked right in the teeth with some kind of meteor, or someone's going to push the button, or a strain of flu is going to kill everyone. POOF, there goes the whole human race. And who's going to write about it then... Nobody. We'll all be dead. We are just a fungus on this otherwise healthy planet.
Do you stop going to work because your feet have some sort of athlete's foot? No. Do you think the earth is going to stop rotating around it's axis just for little old human race? We are going to die, whether we like it or not. I'd say be friendly, don't litter, and live your life. Why cross the "We're gonna die!!" bridge before we get there? If it's gonna happen, you won't know it.

This, unfortunately is just another bad phase in human evolution. It's a constant cycle that had taken it's migrational turn for the worst. People have elected government officials with their own agendas, have started to pay for buying expensive SUV's and over delevopment durring the 90's when there was a boom due to the internet revoution and the overall globalization of the planet...there's gotta be some bumpiness along the road of uniting a good majority of the worlds people with instant and sometims annonomious communication.
But like all things....it'll always get better. People hopefully will elect people who will do the right things. Focus their energies and the resources of our nations to help change the global warming trend. People mgight be smarter with the choices they make and start to live more enviromentally sustainable lives. And maybe we might be able to all sit down and talk to eachother...and make real progress in our conflicts. But that's the stuff folk songs are made out of.

No, I don't think the world is doomed. I've ready sooo many articles about global warming some say we should be panicked, and others make it sound like it will all be ok. About the dooms day clock...I didn't even know it existed I agree with many of you others who say that it's measuring something that isn't tangible. I think God and Mother Nature can only decide when the end comes...let's say the clock did reach midnight what do you think would happen? Most likely nothing...unless it's a clock for God to come to earth and intervene with all that is coming. I'm sure we all have nothing to worry about at least not for another 100 years or so. So just live your life as best as you can and don't live in fear because these crazy people and their clock are just trying to scare people and be in the spotlight yet again. ONLY GOD and no one else can know when the end is truly coming. As for global warming you should check out my source for global warming.
