I am gay,so I only have sex with men..
But love is a different thing all together.
I do have some female friends that i love dearly:
But that is on an emotional level, nothing physical at all.
Some of them stay overnight,we take a bath together, drink some smoke some and sleep in the same bed.
There is not a bit of sex going on at all
But I do love them.
And i care about my friends, but I can only love one guy at the same time:He gets it all.I am a very committed person.
Greetings:Rob.xxx

Everyone has the potential to love, however as a gay male, I would say that there are many differnet kinds of love. Ya, I love my family, my friends and my female friends, but not in the same way I love my boyfriend.
The emotional connection your friend speaks about is probably just that... Dont you love your friends. I think if you spoke to him more deeply about it, he would reveal that he actually doesnt love love them in the same way one would a partner.
I just hope you arent keeping a secret glimmer of hope that one day it might be you (or another girl)...

People can love all type of people. I am a straight man, and there are a few men that I love with all my heart. I would give my life for them. It is completely emotional, and nothing sexual. (And one of them is a very good looking guy, I just still can't bring my self to lusting after him.)

I have heard of this happening. I knew a (hot!) gay man who could get any young hot guy he wanted. He did date a female, about 20 years his senior and not what most would consider attractive in any way. But he said he loved her soul.
BUT, I also think that some gay guys are really bi and scared to admit it. In the gay world, it seems to be unaccepted to be bisexual. They feel they must be either or. This confuses me, because I thought that being who you are is supposed to be the theme of the gay lifestyle. Stifling your true feelings goes against that.

I think so, I've heard the same. They are just more emotional, and maybe need a female's shoulder to cry on at times. I love my gay friends!

Sure, I have several female friends and love them dearly but I'd never even think of them sexually at all.
That type of love is separate from the love one feels for a spouse.

Sexuality is a multi layered thing in the sense that people don't always fit into nice neat boxes of same sex/opposite sex exclusive relationships. Therefore of course men can be attracted to the same sex and the opposite sex, but then technically speaking they are not gay, but Bi!

Just because that is true for your friend does not mean it is true all the time for everyone. People are all different remember? That's what make the world so interesting.

Men can love other men like a brother. I would feel such a major blow if my best friend I have known most of my life died. Of course they can, they are human.
