Because she had given him up for dead, remarried and has a daughter. From the way the movie goes, she would like to...but she can't walk away from her husband and daughter. It's almost as if she can't make time go backwards although she wishes that she could.
Imagine what her daughter and husband would think. I believe the point is if you were to disappear how different everything would be. And how things could never be how they were.

Helen Hunt's character was not the wife of Tom Hanks' character in the movie "Cast Away." She was his fiancee/girlfriend. Meanwhile, when he was gone for years and was pronounced dead, she moved on and married someone else and had a child. It's a well done and sensitive twist in the film.

Remove the old memory chips and then insert the new ones, just be careful when inserting the RAM so as not to bend or break the memory stick...

She gave him up for dead, grieved, and moved on. She still loved him, but also loved the daughter and new husband. She couldn't give up what she had now, for what was then no matter how hard it was for her.

He'd been gone so long. She already had to deal with his "death." He's not the same person he was when she last saw him and neither was she.

because she thought he was dead. and she remarried and has another family. she just couldn't get up and leave her family. i'm sure she didn't have the same feelings for him.
