No. I love to yard sale, ebay and Goodwill. I can get 10x more clothes that way. Besides, brand new clothes are used after the first time you wear them. I do draw the line at underwear and swimsuits tho.

Love the second hand stores/yard sales. The prices are so right. I am very picky about what i buy there for the family. At back to school time and christmas it is new clothes for the kids. The rest of the year their wardrobe is supplemented by the things i pick up at sh.stores. By the way, a large majority of the stuff they have in stock is NEW, it is bought by the tonne and usually has items that are minor defects, or last years style.

Heck no, I'm not too good for second hand clothing. Are you kidding? Most of my daughter's clothes are hand me downs from other relatives or from garage sales or from the Salvation Army. You are absolutely right in saying that kids grow up way too fast to keep buying expensive clothes. Heck, it seems my daughter only gets to wear some of her outfits only a few times before she grows out of them. A lot of mine and my husbands shirts are from garage sales also. But we have to buy new pants because we need to try them on (especially me), but we get the cheapest ones we can find. We have better things to spend our money on than worrying about designer clothing.

I don't buy them because as a child I was always forced to wear the hand me downs, that were to short for me. They came from a cousin that was older but we were built so different. My other option was to wear my brother's clothes, ugh. Mom did make me nice homemade things though, I wish I had her talent for sewing. So, it is a childhood issue regarding the clothing. I use coupons sales etc to get a good price.
Have a Sparkling Day!!

Or are you too good to put them on your kids! NO! My youngest granddaughter, 21 months, is wearing clothes that were her almost 12 year old sister's and her four and a half year old sister's. And other hand me downs from friends. It's so much fun seeing them on her. I loved second hand stuff from my cousin as a kid, too. And my daughter and I swap clothing we are tired of. There is also a couple of great second hand stores near us and we go there for fun. Jeans are especially good buys there as they are so freakin' expensive new even for toddlers.

That's mostly what I wear. I have on a pair of pants right now from my sister that I took in at the seams and they fit much better now. Come to think of it, the sweatshirt I'm wearing came from a bag of clothes my other sister gave me. I'm often the recipient of used clothes from other family members because I think they consider me needy because I have three kids. Also because they think they can dump stuff on me and whatever I don't need I'll either throw away or donate. Like they couldn't have done that in the first place.

My children wear hand me downs. I had a problem with it and realized, there is no reason to feel bad that they need to. We have been given many items of clothing that still had the tags on them. They have been complimented many times when wearing them.

I think the good will is the new fad in our area. This year all of a sudden its the cool thing to do, is go to goodwill and get clothes. My trendy 17 yr old daughter who used to hate that store, now loves it.
Hey I dont care, Cheaper in my pocket LOL.

I don't buy them but if someone gives me something that me or my son can wear I do not have problem with keeping it. The winter coat my son has is a hand me down.

i guess it's a cultural thing...here in Italy a mother would NEVER think of buying second hand clothes for their kids...but then italians are a bit too concerned about clothes and fashion...
