and sing, thinking they can honestly be the next American Idol? I feel so bad for the ones who are awful singers but are deluding themselves thinking they are great. What makes them willing to set themselves up like that? And worse yet, what compels us to watch them make fools of themselves?

I feel sorry for the ones who are obviously mentally challenged. I think some of those may have been tricked into doing it, so they could be made fun of. Some of them are just obnoxiously full of themselves - I don't care if they get slammed. And I think there are alot of them that know they can't sing, but make a complete fool of themselves just to be on tv.

I think they know they can't sing, they just want their 2 seconds of fame, even if they end up making a fool of themselves.

watching fools is hillarious. however i really dont have any answer for the top part of the question, i dont know why if your that terrible at it, you would want to try it in front of millions. i know i would never go on national television and play the Tuba! cause I SUCK! i dont get why they're loved ones and friends dont video tape these kids trying to make it and show them how dumb they look.
