I was once a native of Hertfordshire and often commuted to Stevenage. There is quite a lot of industry in that town and neighboring towns. Stevenage is not a large town, not compared to London, but it is a nice and offers good restuarants and family facilities. The suburbs are very family oriented. It has a main train station within 30 miles of the big city. It also has its own hospital. The rural areas are lovely and much sightseeing.

I hope you enjoy your stay.
