Depends on distance. If it's a long trip, time is not a factor for me. Comfort is. I'll prefer a cabin to a seat any day if I'm crossing the pond. I hate flying. Not because of fear, just because it's a great pain nowadays. If I can, I drive.
However, there are more ships on the bottom of the ocean then there are planes.

Depends on the destination. If I want to cruise on a ship and relax I would do that. If I need to get to where I am going in a hurry- a plane is the only way to go. I love airplanes! They are so much better than driving. Get on the plane and be there to enjoy the time off instead of sitting in a car forever waiting to get to where you want to be.

Never been on a ship I would love to one day if they ever make them safe ( keep murders from happening ) I have been on a lot of planes but I hate it

Never been on a cruise ship. I am not all that fond of planes. Guess I will say my husband's 17' tugboat he built. It is so much fun and cute! Not a ship, though.
