if you are within the zone of the school then your child is entitled to go there. If you are looking to send your child to a school outside your zone, then you need to contact the school and apply for a special exemption. This is accepted or rejected by the school at its discretion (often dependent upon how full the school is)

They are supposed to take any kids in their catchment, provided you reside in the catchment at the time of enrolment.

You will be going to the local state school, or if you opp for a private school you have choice if vacantcies are availble.
