I wouldn't say that relaxation makes you healthy. Being healthy takes more than just relaxation, it also takes exercise and ahealthy diet. However, it does work to relieve stress. Stress can be a culprit in all sorts of ailments, from mirgrains to skin rashes and high blood pressure. It can also lead to a weakened immune system which will leave you open to getting a cold or the flu. So in that sense, I would say that relaxation is part of a healthy lifestyle and it certainly has its benefits.

Absolutely!

we live very hectic, and stress filled lives; that our sleep does not provide the amount of rest we need.

meditation helps to relax the body. A relaxed body has a stronger immune system.

I practise zen for about 20 minutes 6 days a week.

I believe in everything in moderation. If you relax all the time...that leads to laziness. But if you're a busy person (and who isn't in today's world?) you need to take time out to calm yourself. It helps your blood pressure and your heart rate. I find the best relaxation is yoga!
