No.
The united states wants peace and democracy for the whole world.
Pushing its "American values for the whole world" mentality is what generates frustration.
Hiding its "What am I going to get out of this and who do I have to stomp on to get it" Capitalism is what generates hatred.

A country can adopt democracy and not be an American puppet. Unfortunately, whenever a country grows in that manner the first instinct is to blame the U.S.

Just my opinion.

Sort of. It is called fighting by proxy. The U.S. fought the Soviets by proxy in Afghanistan by supplying the Mujahadeen (Osama & his pals) with weapons and money. We are now fighting Al Queda (Osama again) by proxy using Pakistan. We fought the Chinese that way in Korea. We fought the Soviets that way in Viet Nam.
