I think he is so cruel. I felt so bad for some of the contestants especially the overweight cute guy. Simon should be reprimanded. I hope someone kicks his a** one day.

Yeah , he goes way over the top, but I think they plan all that just so people will keep watching. I thought Paula and Randy were rather rude last night on the program. ( laughing at the contestant while they were huh trying to SING and obviously couldn't).
Simon is just doing what he is paid to do. Be sarcastic, and blunt.
I know it's not nice.... poor contestants their families should stop lying to them about their talents.

I think Simon is cruel but fair, he does speak his mind and knows what he is talking about. I think after the amount of people he has heard sing he has no time for the time wasters, the people who should not be there in the first place.

dude, he is one of the top producers in the world, how can you feel compationate for these idiots that go on there thinking they can sing? Im no singer, ive been told i have a good voice but i wouldnt go on american idol to sing simply because i know that i'm not good enough to sing profesionaly. I think simon takes everything with a light heart and if you dont get it ohh well :)

He is the most accurate and informed of the 3 judges.
However, he is intentionally rude because his personality is more abrupt...and mostly, because its about the showmanship. It keeps people watching and talking.
It doesn't hurt that he's British...as not everything translates easily between the languages/cultures. So it makes him seem even more removed and arrogant.

I think he makes good TV, very entertaining.
And most of the people he rips off know that they shouldn't be singing in the first place.

I usually like his frankness, but last night he was mean to some people that didn't deserve it. I'm ok when he lets loose on the ones with bad attitudes, but not the ones who just don't know any better.

I agree he can be harsh, but I feel he's honest and to the point.When he likes someone he praises them as well.
