Where it is obvious Shilpa is being targeted by others in the house i do believe it is mainly down to jealousy as she is a very beautiful woman. The media is surely making the most of the claims of racism and everybody seems to be jumping on the bandwagon by complaining to the show and channel4. what i haven't heard anything about is the undercover mosque program which was aired on channel4 earlier in the week. why hasn't this got complaints and media coverage? i am way more concerned about this than a few girls bickering in a show which should of finished years ago anyway. if you haven't seen the program it was talking about Islamic extremism in the u.k and what was and is happening to our country and is absolutely absurd. where is the fair judgment? i am by no means racist but it ever increasingly seems that the public are blinded by actual, meaningful things which are happening in this country and the 'heat' magazine culture we live in has all the coverage. what are your thoughts

So India is a modern, on the verge of greatness nation? Oh please, give me a break.

Freaking India is in a frenzy of outraged insult based upon so-called "racist" comments made by the cast directed at another cast member (an Indian Bollywood actress) in a British reality TV show.

This is causing a diplomatic row with Britain. The Indian's are demonstrating in the streets and near riot over this non-reality event.

It's a reality TV show for god sake and the cast members are actors. Hello, it's TV and ratings ...not reality.

India is a very primative country and the people, for the most part, are still very primative.

The whole big brother scandal is something of nothing & i don't believe that any real racist comments were said on purpose. The only racist comment i heard was the 1 from danielle which she didn't even mean in that way. I think that everyone thinks that everything that is commented about in tabloids, newspapers & magazines is true, even when it is not & things like the true racism that occurs goes by the by. How come when a white person is attacked by people from other cultures nothing is said?

I thoroughly agree. I have watched each sequence of huge brother because the very starting up and there is continuously someone in Shilpa's position, and they are in many cases first to bypass. Shabaz became Asian and relentlessly picked on as component of BB7 and back no racism row. i imagine 2 factors are major the following: a million - Shilpa Shettey is an truly enormous well known individual in India and is fairly respected and respected as such. for this reason, the asian community in Britain are bowled over and dismayed that any one might want to cope jointly with her interior the way that Jade and the others have performed, for although reason. 2 - Jade Goody became picked on relentlessly herself in BB3. She became the butt of each of the jokes, and they (as all of us undergo in ideas) tricked her into taking her outfits off as component of a strip quiz interest that they invented to verify she might want to lose. She is now turning out to be the bully subconsciously to verify it would not take position to her this time round. satirically i imagine that folk loved her because she became bulied and the underdog, and could dislike her for being the bully this time. She might want to come out jointly with her 'occupation' in tatters wheras Shilpa now has a robust probability of both prevailing, or being interior the in basic terms right 3.

I'm not even sure it is racism. After all, racism is about making assumptions and statements, always bad, about someone based on their race. It may be in this case race doesn't really come into it, it may be they just don't like her or feel threatened by her and would be this way whatever her race. It is very easy to put things down to racism to cover up other things, like a personal dislike which is not racism whatever the peoples' respective colors.

Jade did make some comments which could be construed as racist and which clearly indicate her ignorance. Jo and Jack were as bad as Jade and Danielle, in my opinion, made comments which were more racially inflammatory than anything Jade, Jo or Jack said. However, being of mixed race, I can categorically say that I have been subject to much worse taunts and bullying myself; from the 'n' and 'p' words (words that have had such a deep impact on my psyche that I cannot even bring myself to say them, much less write them), from white people, to 'no-nation' from black people.

Racism is, unfortunately, a fact of life in modern Britain. In my experience people are learning what is and is not acceptable and will, generally, modify their language to try to try to conform. However, the underlying attitudes have not changed (The Macpherson report is as relevant today as it was directly after Stephen Lawrence' death). I, for one, am glad that recent events in Big Brother have again opened up the debate.

I am, though, getting tired of the holier-than-thou attitude of many people (in particular the media) in condemning the 'three Big Brother witches' (where does Jack fit in?!) Jade et al need to be held accountable for their words and actions and to have their ignorance pointed out to them in no uncertain terms. Jade, Danielle, Jack and Jo were all guilty of bullying Shilpa and I despise all of them for their reprehensible behaviour. However, 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone' and let's not pretend that their racist attitudes and behaviour are in any way unusual in modern day Britain.

We should all be concerned about racism and it should be condemned in its many forms. On the face of it, a few silly, ignorant comments on a light entertainment show are not as worrying as 'real' issues of racial division/conflict as highlighted in a documentary programme. However, they are extreme ends of the same continuum.

I believe one of the 'so called' racist remarks made related to Indian people eating with their fingers. The majority of people in the Indian sub-continent eat with their fingers and to say this is simply an observation. It is about as racist as saying that Chinese people eat with chopsticks.

I questioned a Sri Lankan about eating with his fingers and if he had considered the hygeine issues....his response "If I eat in a restaurant I know exactly where my eating utensils have been, and that my hand is clean.....can you say the same about the knives and forks that you are eating with in the restaurant ?" .........strike one for the Indian sub-continent !!!

I thnk it is pathetic that the Indian Government should get involved. Could you imagine the government of Jamaica complaining about Alf Garnett...........it is simply PC gone crazy. what will we have next ? I know...equal rights for fat slappers.

this could be shown through jades mum being called white trash and that ignored and also when jodie marsh bullied last yr. it has been highlighted as everyone who speeks about indians are seen as racist even if they are not being racism, but to be fair to shilpa she is being ganged up on.

It did'nt get any complaints b/c no one knows that the show is still on the air. If a tree falls in the woods by itself does it make a sound.
