9/11 essentially started the war on terrorism. Remember al-Qaeda? They were the "terrorists" who destroyed the World Trade Centers, yet we barely hear anything about them anymore. Now it's a holy war; now it's the right religion wins. It's the destruction of the freedom of others for our own freedom. And even if it's easy to be free, what's your definition of freedom? For me, freedom will never be free as long as freedom fries aren't free.

Yes what happened on 9/11 took us to war in Afghanistan.
But the war in Iraq is something Bush is trying to finish that his
father couldn't.

While G.W. is certainly not the greatest President we've ever had, people tend to forget that the alternative was the self contradictory pathological liar named John Kerry. The only person that scares me more that could possibly run is Hillary. And, before you say it's because she's a woman, it's not. I'd support Dr. Rice in a presidential bid and she's not only a woman, but "black" also. Anyone who puts stock in these 911 conspiracy theory's should read the March 2005 cover story in Popular Mechanics. You can find it on line here. http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html Read the debunking of myths by a internationally respected scientific authority, not from some pinko's who take a few irrelevant facts from a science book and made a video to try and justify their far right agenda's. A lot of Innocent people died in these diabolical attacks on our country. Wake up people. This is real.

No - what happened on 9/11 was justification of something we have wanted to do for a long time under the guise of "hunting out terrorists" and that is control the Kuwait and Saudi oil fields.

When all other logical answers fail to exist, the one thing that you can link to everything is money and prosperity.

Our country is hugely dependent on foreign oil and what better way to control the import of oil than to be on site to guarantee that the supply is not controlled by dictators?

I won't say I agree with our war in Iraq, but when you look at the bigger picture, I am not sure I want to pay 4.00 a gallon for gas either....

I think 9/11 was used to get us into the war. I would like to think the President has the best interest of the whole country, but I don't believe that at all. Of course Monday morning quarterbacking is always easier than sitting in the hot seat.

The events of 9/11 are an excuse for war. There is no evidence to sustain the notion that Iraq had anything whatsoever to do with those events, and none will ever be discovered. Iraq was just on the list for conflict.

Well you are wrong. We are in two wars at this time. You need to brush up a little on your history to understand Iraq (I won't do that for you). We are in the war on terror because of 9/11. Now run along and do your homework. Who ever you are parroting knows nothing, so do your own research.

It is the excuse for why we are at war, but Iraq was not connected to 9-11.

I think if all of our citizens would do more than just barely finish high school, get a good education, learn to spell, and continue
on to finish college in a field of study that they could contribute something to our society, they would also have the ability to formulate and ask more intelligent and comprehensible questions. GOD BLESS THE USA!!

Yes. I do think it is part of why we went to places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Osama Bin Laden had people that were loyal followers and they learned how to crash airplanes into buildings. I don't believe Saddam Hessein had anything to do with 9/11.
