Crab Legs Pregnancy

A pound is a bit much. However, snow crab legs are on the low risk level of mercury. King crab legs are even lower. You dont want more than 2-3 servings of snow crab a month, and no more than 4 of the king. Obviously you want to space those servings out through the month and not binge it all in one sitting.

IT DOES NOT HAVE THE HIGHEST THREAT OF MeRCURY! holy crap, iam sitting here staring at the chart in font of my face. Things like shark, sword fish, and other things like that have the highest, shell fish is one of the lowest. SOFT SHELL crabs havea very high level of mercury. That would be like rock lobster and blue crab. Jeeze people. Scare the crap out of the poor girl why dont you.

The only reason I know is because all I craved in my first and second trimester was crab... lol. Its actually full of all sorts of good for you things. Minus the threat of mercury.

I wouldnt sit and eat a whole pound again. Since thats a bit more than the suggested serving.

Check the below link. Fish is touch and go while pregnant (to include other seafood as well). Some you can't eat, some you have to eat in portions. This will help you. I carry a list like what this site has, so I know what fish I can order and how much I can have a week. I love tuna, so cutting back on that was a damper. Special note, however, is NO RAW fish. If you love sushi - better make it veggie until babe is born! Best wishes and enjoy your dinner! Yummy!

I ate crab legs through my entire pregnancy. Me and a friend would go about once a month and I would eat about a 1.5 lbs!!!! They were oh so good! My dr said that it was ok as long as I wasn't eating them everyday. My son was born August 11 and is the picture of health.

Crab legs won't hurt the baby. It is fine to eat certain types of seafood. I think they say to limit your intake to about 6 ounces a week. Here's the link to the food and drug administration. I referred to it a lot during my pregnancy last year.

It is just fine to eat them....I craved them while pregnant with my second daughter and I ate LOADS of them. Doc said seafood(properly cooked) was actually good for you. My daughter is now a very healthy 4 1/2 year old...so don't worry too much about it.

I worked at Red Lobster in my 1st preg. and ate them daily! The only bad thing it did, was make me gain 60 pounds, which I lost all of it afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, no it will not hurt anything, but maybe weight gain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
