North and South / Love and War is an old series, but is a classic. It is one of my favorites. I recently got it on DVD. My husband didn't think it would be good, but couldn't quit watching them once he started. Just avoid the last book called Heaven and Hell. It is awful!!! I don't know what the writer was thinking. We couldn't watch more than the 1st 5 mins. It's ok though cause the book before that tied up the loose ends. That should've been the grand finale.
My husband said a good comedy is Happy Texas.
He also suggests a western after the mode of Young Guns called Ride with the Devil.
