I can tell you from experience with the same truck that the tranny isnt so good in that truck. Mine was shot after 3 years. I had to put an aftermarket cooler on it because the fluid heated way to much. You didnt say how many miles are on, or if its had a rebuild, it but since its a '94 your bands are probably worn and its time. A god tranny should be able to do it quickly and for a good price. Consider that aftermarket cooler.

If its an automatic it's either the A500/42RH 42RE or the A518/46RH 46RE depending on engine package and whether it's 2 or 4 wheel drive. If it's a 4spd manual it's the New Venture NV4500 If it's a 5 spd manual it's the Aisin AX15 Easiest way to narrow it down is to call the dealer with your VIN # and ask the parts department to look it up. Hope this helps!

have it rebuilt or replaced or put up with it.. Its a 94, its an old truck. You might/could see about flushing the torque converter, but given its age, its probably just old. How many miles is on it? Do you beat it or drive conservatively? What engine?
