My partner was always hanging out with a girl at work. he would meet her for lunch even when he knew it annoyed me and used to phone her a lot (I know because I sit beside her at work). Then he said he wouldnt see her but did and lied about it. He went out for a drink with her when he said he was at the gym but then admitted it later (he hates going out drinking). He never misses the gym and two days later on my birthday was out all day and then wanted to go to the gym - so he didnt want to miss the gym for me. He would say that he didnt phone her but then i would find out that he had. I know they see each other at the gym - everyone says she is very attractive. What do you think?

He swears there is nothing in it and he just lied cause I was making such a fuss about it all. He was very angry when he found out I knew he had been lying.

Maybe he is, or maybe he just likes getting the attention.
Women have guys give them attention all the time, so you don't really understand. 95% of us guys never feel like women find us highly attractive, so the ego boost we get when a woman (especially an attractive one) seems to be interested feels SO good you don't want it to stop. They want that boost.
As I said, it doesn't mean he's doing anything. Of course, though, it is not appropriate for him to be having a secretive relationship like this, whether it's a fling or not. He needs to stop it.

Well, this is a eye opener because I am in the same situation you are (not to that degree) and while reading your post I realized how rong it is. He has already broken your trust, by lying and instead of apologizing when you confronted him about his lies he got mad...which means that he is probably thinking that hes totally justified in his behavior and wont change it. He is hanging around her far to much to be comfertable now..and if he isnt having an affiar yet believe me he is trying. HE was extremely inconsiderate on your birthday, and if he was out all day he could have been with her. He calls her all the time aswell? The only thing I think is that he wants this girl to the extend that he doesnt care or respect your feelings what so ever. Im thinking that if things progress further with this woman he hangs out with you are going to be pushed out of the relationship completely. Tell him that you know he is lying about seeing her and that if you find out that he sees her once more intentionally (makes plans) that you are gone. So if he goes behind your back and does that then feel free to leave because it shows how much he really values your relationship.
ps my boyfriend and my babies dad and I broke up because of his lying. There is a reason I dont want him to have female friends he finds attractive..and reading your question makes me realize why.

I dont know if he had a fling or not but you need to find out for sure if he did or not and talk with and ask the girl you are talking about and see what she has to say....

he is hiding things, as those who have nothing to hide hide nothing. sounds as if u are not a priority in his life, and he doesn't want to spend time with u. he seems to not want to even give u any time at all, and usually it is due to the person having an affair. when someone new comes into their life, how little we mean to them when this happens. as if they forgot they once loved us.

How could you not know??? He is screaming it at you with every one of his actions with this other girl!!! He calls her while she is sitting beside you at work...........That alone should tell you something...........wake up honey!!!!
