I haven't even watched the second CD (because it's not working- will replace it tomorrow,) but have found the mini series, to be the best I have ever seen in its genre. I also feel that it is one of the best "anythings" I've ever seen. Those Golden Globes were well deserved! I don't know if it classifies for Oscars, but if it does, it has to win! What do you think? BTW, please don’t spoil part two, as I haven't seen it yet.

It's superb, and Helen Mirren deserved the Globe.
Isn't it ironic she got another one the same night for playing Elizabeth II in the film The Queen.
Good on ya, Dame Helen.

The Helen Mirren film, you mean? Yes, it was shown on Channel 4 in the UK in the autumn of 2005. It is very, very good. Though, I have to say, I did find Mirren's portrayal of this particular Queen Elizabeth just a little too coquettish, insufficiently illustrating Elizabeth's genuine political weight and nous - which I believe went well beyond exploiting her femininity.
