I just bought the last model HP they had on display for a good price, partly because it didnt come with a mouse/keyboard, or any cds and such (Just the Desktop). So I brought it home last night and started reformatting it with another windows xp cd from a previous system. It worked out well I suppose except now I dont have any sound and cant seem to install the sound drivers that are on there already. Do I need to contact HP for this or is it something easy that Im not figuring out?

You should be able to go to the HP website and download the drivers from there. http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers Then type in the model of your desktop.

Also keep in mind that the XP you installed needs to be registered in order to get microsoft updates.

You should be able to download the drivers from the HP website... go looking for 'support' on www.hp.com... and there is a drivers and downloads bit in support.
