i guess my way of looking at the analogy is that chains are restrictive so for marriage although chains can physically hold you two together it is not based on free will and happiness. Threads on the otherhand are intertwined with one another to make a whole interconnected unit. :)

Love and respect and commitment and humility and plain 'ol doing unto each other AS you would want to be treated really is a good thought. Whatever analogy you use anything not built on a strong-firm foundation will never stand against the storms and rains that are sure to come against it. Hope that helps.

it is not big issues and ideas of what you think marriage should be like that keeps two peopel together, but the little things like remembering to order fries w/o salt or to kiss you mates cheek when you get out of bed that in the end really matter and peopel appreciate

well when you get married you already know you want to be with this person. Marraige is always gonna be hard because its learning to live with a different person. Why do you think , if u had brothers and sisters, that it was so hard to get along with them. Your two different people who want to be together but yall need to learn how to do it. thats what marriage needs.
