I was afraid of spiders until my boss gave me his 2 tarantulas, now I love them. you need to educate yourself to understand how completely fascinating and useful they are. their silk is 10x stronger than steel by weight, they bleed blue blood, which scientist use to test new drugs, the fangs hyperconcentrate minerals and are hard enough to pierce a leather boot, and of course they can walk up a vertical piece of glass, how cool is that?

I am an Arachnophobic.
I have a fear of spiders, no matter how big
or small they are. The new Charlotte's Web movie
looks good, but I won't be watching it. I saw the
Trailer for it, and it was cute that the horse in the
movie was afraid of spiders to. I wish I could watch it,
but it looks like they used a real spider. TOO SCARY
FOR ME.

For me, it's not so much the other insects as it is with hte spiders. I absolutey hate them!! My 5yr old will get to a spider and kill it b4 I even get near it because she knows how deathly afraid I am of them. And actually, my dad is afraid of them too. He's not a little guy, either. A big hunking manly man afraid of spiders. And I don't respect him any less, either, because I can relate. Don't know why I have the phobia, but I do. I guess everybody has to be afraid of something, and spiders won.

I also hate spiders. Watching Return of the King didn't help, but I continue to watch it. :-)

Something I did that helped was to take clear packaging tape and to tape it around the living room where the carpet meets the wall. I've seen several small critters (not just spiders) trapped on the other side of the tape, but I still occasionally see a spider on the carpet.

I've heard that a house (and apartment too, I guess) needs to be able to "breathe," but not all that enters the dwelling is air. :-|
