When I was pregnant with my third child I, had lots of lower abdominal pain and was told that because it was my third pregnancy, as my body knew what to do, ie ligaments stretching etc, then this was happening faster. If you are really worried just keep on at the medical profession until they do something for you. Good luck and try not to worry too much.

Yes, pregnancy tests do work while you're on birth control, the pill does trick your body into thinking its pregnant but it does not produce the specific hormone that the pregnancy test picks up on when you are pregnant. The contraceptive patch should be very effective if you've used it properly and so it should be very unlikely that you're pregnant. It could well be to do with he intercourse, however there may be a completely unrelated reason for this. If the pain is severe you should get it checked out. However I would get yourself checked out for STI's if you had an accident with the condom. Its fairly soon, but chlamydia can cause abdo pain, but i doubt that would happen so quickly and is often symptomless in women, and for that reason I would get yourself a chlamydia test anyway to be on the safe side.

I would phone your own midwife or GP for reassurance. I had bad pelvic pain around 24 weeks in my third pregnancy and was told its due to the fact all your ligaments soften much more quickly than they did before and in some women it leads to muscular cramps made worse by some movements. Take extra care getting in and out of bed or the car. Its one of the things nobody warns you about when you go on to have more than two.

You can have all sorts of aches and pains during pregnancy - baby might be in a position that's pinching a nerve, your uterus is expanding and pushing other organs around, muscles are stretching, whatever. This is something you'll just have to get through.

I am 21 weeks along and have been having the same type of pains.
Asked my Dr about it and he said sense I have not been pregnant in a few years that it was all my mussels stretching and making room for the baby.

I think its shocking that they didnt take you into hospital to get it checked out. If it happens again i would just go to the hospital and make them see you. I was getting pains in my 7th month of pregnancy and they scanned me to check it out. If you worry then make them listen to you because it isnt worth the risk. Good luck!
