I don't think I've ever heard this expression, but I can tell you that it's true! I've been married for 5 years now.

Okay, so before I got married I loved everythign about my husband. Everything. I thought it was cute how he refused to use a towel more than once. Then we got married and suddenly I'm doing 2 loads of wash (towels only) a week. Ridiculous and not so cute anymore.

The first year when you're in love, you're clouded by lust. This is not a bad thing. Without that lust we may never pair off and get married. After years and years of marriage the lust eventually wears off and what you have is the person - faults and all.

Look, if you have an unhappy marriage then you and your wife need to start working it out. Don't walk around in this life thinking Love owes you something or that it should come without work. Love is the easy part, keeping each other happy is where the work comes in. If you have enough love you will do whatever it is you have to to make each other happy. It's a two way street and being bitter and jaded about it all isn't going to fix anything. In fact it will probably just make things a whole lot worse. Get an open dialog going and find out when you both lost sight of each others happiness. Then do what needs to be done.

I have been married for 25 years and I can tell you that in that amount of time, you will fall in and out of love with your husband or wife many times, I think that is what is meant by love is blind. You can overlook many imperfections when you are in love. Not so much when you are not. The trick is to marry someone you like, not just love.

NNNOOO WAYY
love will always somehow be blind
just because you get married does not mean some ppl will automatically stop cheating or should i say "show their true colours"
ok, marriage is a very sacred thing between 2 ppl and should be kept that way (i think) but it doesn't always restore love's site

That just means that two people are thinking with their libido when they first are getting to know one another. They jump in to marriage to quickly, not really getting to know each other and that is when reality sets in.
