As far as big buisness (and not universities I am talking about where money is being made and not taken) are concerned how can they be a true minority when every women is a double minority except for the white women. For instance an asian women is a double minority because she is an asain and she is a women. Is this a racist gesture by the system to give the white women a piece of the affirmitive action pie.

Huh? How can being a single minority be a racist gesture when other women are a double?

Women, at the time this legislation was enacted and still may be, were a minority in the business world, i.e. few if any businesses were owned or run by women. This is the reason for considering them a minority.

White women were and are the major beneficiaries of affirmitive action. Employers can get away with not hiring visible minorities if they have the option of hiring white women. Now that they have achieved parity with white men, most white women oppose affirmitive action because they do not want other visible minorities to become their equals. Hence in states ranging from Washington to Michigan white women vote against affirmitive action. And by the way most of the women who are in engineering are of Asian origin.

Business women are called minorities because is the man who is called to bring the sustent home. When there's no man or the sustent he brings is not enough, the woman has to do both chores: sustent the family and raise it. Makes us minority because of the double ammount of sacrifice we have to make.

And still we get paid less than men by doing five times what they do. Quite unfair.

In the job world - women - regardless of race, are quite often under paid when compared to a male with the same qualifications. That is why a woman is considered a minority.

Because we are women and women are discriminated against. Somebody else dealing with double discrimination doesn't change the fact that white women face discrimination too.

You're right. Let's get rid of affirmative action and level the playing field for everybody. Let people get hired or promoted for their abilities instead of skin color.
