Comfort, Wimberley, Fredricksburg, Glen Rose
Staying close to home: The Inn at Onion Creek
A little further: Salado. Stay at The Stagecoach Inn and shop along main street.
If it is THIS weekend, Stock Show is on in Ft. Worth, lots of things to do there, NHL All-Star Weekend is on in Dallas.

weather permitting, Lost Maples State Park. Its better in the fall, though.
Also , there used to be a little inn at the small town of Concan that was a nice hideaway. Anywhere in the hill country- Enchanted Rock near Llano is a good day trip too, but call ahead for availability.
For a longer trip, I recommend Guadalupe Peak- you can camp at Pine Springs and climb the peak, or enjoy several other hikes of differing degrees of difficulty, again not a good idea until spring.
San Antonio River walk is nice too.

If your willing to drive about 200 miles ( dont know if you think that's too far for a weekend), may I suggest Galveston.

It is one of the United State's loveliest islands.
A perfect place for a romantic getaway; trams, the beach, lovely old buildings, tree-lined streets, quaint galleries and shops.

It doesn't have to be very expensive, there is even a Motel 6 there (just before the bridge over to the island), clean and reasonably priced.

This is a truly beautiful and special place.
And from 9th to the 20th Feb the Galveston Mardi Gras is on.

If you think it might be a possibility, I have included a couple of relevant links below:

Fredricksburg is close to Austin and has some great shops.

The Riverwalk in SanAntonio is a little further.

If you're willing to drive a few hours, you can go to Dallas, there's plenty to do in Big D.

in my opinion for scenic, you won't be able to overcome County Kerry in eire. it fairly is actual appropriate. the cost of living is life like besides and it fairly is purely an hour'scontinual from Cork city.
