Gettysburg (although it is overlong, you really get a sense of what went down); Birth of a Nation (ignore the hideous racist overtones, there is some great film making withthe battle sequences); Glory.

I believe they did one on the CSS Hunley (the Confederate's submarine) but I cannot remember the title
