I think someone didn't do there homework. They should have investigated the possible dangers to people before coming up with this stunt. They put these people in danger. Of course they should have to be punished. They took away a part of someone's family: a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. That is inexcusable. Maybe they should have to face the children and the husband of this woman and see how they feel about their stupid contest. Yes, the people had to sign a release but it doesn't sound like they made it clear that people could DIE doing this. I can't imagine what her family must be going through right now. God bless them. They will be in my prayers.

Saw that on LARRY KING last night.
Was over 1 1/2 gallon of water.
Said she looked pregnant from the water bloat.
And didn't even "win" the Wii.
10 radio employees were terminated after the death.
Which is nothing compared to Jennier Strange's loss.
Also the lady that won the contest appeared to act like a complete fool over the whole deal.
Like it was all a big fun party...never mind someone died over it.
As did the DJ's covering the contest.
Hopefully this will wake up the public to these contest & reality shows.
God Bless her family & those young children that lost their mother especially!

Okay I heard on the news that this lady drank over a gallon of water without using the bathroom for a radio contest called "hold your wee for a wii". Later the lady died from water intoxication.
I feel bad for the lady and most people think that she died of greed (for wanting a free wii). I think otherwise though. I think that she wanted to give her kids something nice and she was having a struggle saving up the money for one (she was a single mother).
Neither the radio station or lady didn't much research into the topic (of drinking alot of water without peeing) and although the radio got atleast two warning they failed to have proper medical care at the contest and should have warned the contestants better. I don't think the lady was thinking death for a wii for my kids while she was doing the contest. I think she was thinking (bladder) discomfort for a wii for my kids.
I pray for her children growing up motherless and I hope that this doesn't scar them too too much. I don't want them to go on living afraid of water or thinking of their mother every time they see water or not liking science because they talk about H2O alot. I know their are scars but I hope they don't go much further than the kids not liking video games as much.
I hope the radio station DJs and other involved parties suffer more than just getting sued or dealing with a law suit or getting fired but with the guilt of knowing that they caused somebody else's life to end.

This tragedy helped me remember that NOTHING MAN-MADE is worth dying over. If you can name one thing I will give you every piece of junk in my room.
So in conclusion I think that Jennifer Strange should have assumed large amounts of water are dangerous but since not properly informed of dangers or medically cared for I feel that it wasn't her fault.

It sucks. 107.9 was one of the best radio stations ever to listen to in the morning. Its sad everyone from the Morning Rave got fired :[. I think it's partly the End's fault & Jennifer's. I think I heard that Jennifer was some kind of nurse of something like that, so obviously she probably knew that drinking A LOT of water & not going to the bathroom was not good for her. But also The End got phone calls from nurses saying it was bad for the contestants. And now because of all this, the radio station 107.9 might get canceled. They held a lot of concerts, including the Jingle Ball (sooo much fun). If 107.9 gets cancelled then they probably won't have the Jingle Ball that many people enjoyed going to.

It's very sad, but this is the risk people take when they do those contests. Look at the eating contests, no one comes out and says anything when those people suffer strokes and heart attacks. This whole competition thing has gone way overboard. Perhaps this is the wake up call that everyone needs. Nothing in this world is free. There is always some type of price to pay. Thank you and GOD bless.

I have a very mixed opinion on this. So forgive me if this is long. lol First of all...i think both parties are at fault. Not just the radio station. Jennifer was a mother of 2...she should have known better. I know that might be a horrible thing to say, but I'm a mother as well and there are times where you just have to stop and think if it's putting you and/or your child in danger. in this case, she put herself at risk. It's not like water intoxication is this brand new discovery....it's not.
now to put heat on the dj's. Anyone who says that they arent at fault what so ever obviously did'nt listen to the audio. A nurse even called in and said it was dangerous...and it was disregarded. Jennifer said her head hurt...it was disregarded. and not only was it disregarded, but the intern made up an excuse for it. "it's your bodys way of making you throw up." give me a break.
HOWEVER....i'm having a hard time believing that all of them should go to jail for an extended period of time. I guess the laws will have to work that one out. but i think there are criminals a lot more horrible in this country than few dj's who ignorantly got a girl to drink a bunch of water for some video game. dont get me wrong.. they need to take a trip to the slammer...but just not for long.
in conclusion...the dj's shouldnt have pushed it. and jennifer should have been a lot more cautious..not only for herself, but for her children. I feel horrible for her because if that were me, i'd be so sorry for my actions.

Yeah, I read that story. I think the radio station is in deep trouble with this. I bet no one consulted a doctor about this, instead it was some lamebrain marketing and promotion exec who dreamed this up. It's a shame this lady had to die for something so trivial. And I see the woman's family lawyers circling as we speak, as well they should.

The dj's and people at that radio studio claim she signed something that said their weren't responsible. I don't think that claim will hold up in court. How was she to know that she would die?
Her family should sue.

she should know the consequences before taking the actions! would you ride a car with a drunk person, would you inject an aids infected needle, would you cover yourself in honey and go down a red ant hole...NO....because you know the consequences, in her case....she SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that drinking too much water can KILL YOU.....i just feel sorry for her family and friends for missing someone in their world, but let's face it, even if you go to war or join the mafia...you must know the consequences!

It's very sad, and if something like this happened in my family I might not feel this way, but . . .
she is the one that drank the water, no one forced her, she could have backed out at any time. She should have be aware of the dangers.
