How do you tune out the outside world?

I wrap myself up in my writing... honestly.

I just wait until most of the world is asleep and at about 3am I sit and write or I'm here and I usually listen to music but I have to pause it sometimes to think of what else I'm doing. Contrary to popular belief, I do have the real world in mind so that I can get done what needs to be done in my life, but for me it's those few hours before dawn that are always most peaceful for me. When I go grocery shopping at 3am it's actually a refreshing treat because everyone I encounter at that time is really cool, just nice folks who always smile....it's great :)

When writing, I like to tune out the world. I usually turn off all the lights, no music, and write in the dark on my laptop. That way I have no visual or audio noise to disturb me. I just type what I see. : )

I listen to Underotath and close my bedroom door..and pretend I can't hear everyone else...and actually I can't!
