The judiciary is accountable. Should any citizen have any reason to believe in corruption in the judiciary, he has the power to approach the Chief Justice who will initiate enquiry through the administrative wing, which also constitutes the vigilance wing. It is the Bar Council where the major problems lie. Any inquiry against an advocate goes before the Bar Council which comprises of the advocates themselves as members. Since they are all colleagues, the council often favours the senior advocate against who a complaint is raised, rather than promoting justice in the system. There are often unfortunate reports by the media of corruption in the judiciary but this is just not the case while viewing on a larger perspective. It is the lawyers who are twisting the law to make ill gotten gains to the harm and prejudice of their client.
