It would depend on whether I felt he was guilty or not.
Say if he was caught driving a stolen car , I would let him learn the consequences.
If he was picked up with a group of kids who had been protesting Bush's war machine on the white house steps, then yes, I would bail him out.

Well I have no kids, but if my dogs were sent to the pound I would bail them out. I am sure they would be in the pound because they did something stupid like escape the backyard. They are too sweet numbsculls to do anything else.
So if I would bail my dogs out then I probably bail my non existant kids out. Of course they will still have to suffer the consequences of their actions... bailing them out doesnt make their troubles go away. If it is a repeated offence I probably would get tired of the whole thing and let them stay right where they are.

Yes, I would bail them out and if I thought it was for something stupid, I would fight it. Something serious... Would just depend on how serious. If I thought they needed it, I would leave them there for a while so maybe they will think next time before they run off and do something stupid. If they think I'm just going to bail them out everytime, they are more likely to keep making the same error over and over.

I had one get arrested for shoplifting at 14. I did take her home and the courts pretty much slapped her wrist (40 hours of community service and restitution of $100). I took away her ability to get a drivers license until she was 18 (it's 16 in my state). Somebody needed to make sure that she had a punishment that was going to have some significance for her. She obviously didn't have good decision making skills. I never had any more difficulty from her. I think she was afraid of what the next step might be.---By the way, there were 3 other children involved. None were punshed by their parents and all but mine had their parents pay their restitution and used their community service hours for graduation requirements (I didn't allow mine to). Of those 3, 2 has since been in and out the adult detention facility several times for dui and possession. One is on illegitimate child #2....with 2 "baby daddies". I've lost track of the 3rd. My daughter is dean's list at college and will be marrying after graduation.

If it was MY child... I would probably bail them out no matter what. If it was a serious charge i'd look into getting help and if it was something minor i would just put them on punishment

Yes I would bail them out. But then he takes his lumps-which as a matter of fact did just happen, and he knows he is responsible for the outcome. I would bail out friends too just to get them out of the stinky lockup-then they are on their own.By bailing, I hope you just mean putting up the bond money. A lot of times for drunk driving, they get out on personal bond anyway when they sober up.

I would bail them out once if it was something serious I would still bail them out, just once the second time they are on their own.

If it was for drugs or drunk driving no, other then that I would have to see. I would not just turn them off, but they were all raise to know right from wrong and if they made the decision to break the law , well they also made the decision to pay the price.
