I don't think that liking solitary sports indicates narcissism. Some people just like solitude, and there's nothing wrong with that!

Nope. I rock climb... and that's not a solitary sport :-P

You're trusting your climbing partner with your life! It requires good communication and constant reading your partner at all times. Most climbers like friendly competition where they try conquering small challenges or exchanging tips and techniques ^_^

Not necessarily narcissistic (though some climbers are -- but that happens in almost any sport or performing arts)... most of us just love the rush it gives you and/or just like being able to take on and overcome challenges.

As for the solitary sports -- that's more correlated with factors like being introverted, needing time away from too much people, a solitary nature/personality, a desire for something that gives a great rush, or even just plain love/appreciation for nature and the outdoors.

Not at all. I like solitary things myself (though not sports). Narcissists are self-centered people. Solitary people are...solitary. Unless the person thinks they're the greatest rock climber to ever walk the planet, then they can be narcissistic.

That is an matter of opinion rather than fact because many explores that defy the gravity and of defeat make history.

It takes a person who knows the dangers and expects the consequences of the challenge and you really need a Good mind to achieve that challenge where as a "Narcissist" may not have that capability of doing this.

Only if they are obsessed with solitary sports for narcassistic reasons.

I'm obsessed with athletics (track), surfing and skiing and I would not consider myself narcassitic.

I just like those activities. Team sports require you to commit to scheduled training times each week, which my lifestyle does not allow

Rock climbing sounds so FUN!!!! As far as football and other sports addictions are concerned, my son is that way, so I wouldn't ge too annoyed by it, if I were in your shoes!! just call her!!! Smile!!! She's got to have some in between time for other things in order to continue to exist in this life, so dont be afraid, just call her!!! Make suggestions to do other things, with her, that dont involve sports!!! Good-luck, to you!! Smille!!!

Not for those reasons. Narcissism has to do with how you perceive other people compared to yourself. Do you have a lack of humilty and compassion?
