Its more appropriate to think of all apes, ourselves included, share a common ancestor. Think of the ancestoral line as more of a tree with branches. Some of those branches didnt make it, some did.

Darwin got it right. There is something so obviously true that seems so far beyond most people that I have a hard time saying it because I know it will sail right over their heads. It is the obvious fact that we are a type of ape. We are in fact the last in a long line of bipedal apes which also happens to be the one with the largest brain with the possible exception of Neanderthals. Chimps are more closely related to us than they are to gorillas. Evidence points to our bipedal ancestor which went back at least 8 million years though we only have actual fossil evidence going back 5 to 7 million years. This bipedal ape presumably split from our branch and evolved into the knucklewalking gorilla about 8 million years ago. Our branch continued to about 5 million years when it split again. One branch evolved into knucklewalking chimps (separately from gorillas). The other branch presumably evolved into astralopithecus, then our recent hominid ancestors and finally to us. It is far more simple if you think of it logically and classify all as types of apes. Anything else is simply arbitrary. We are in fact animals and trying to separate us as somehow different denies so much biology and science.

All the Great Apes shared a common ancestor several million years ago. First to diverge were the OrangUtans, about 8 million y.a., then the Gorillas, around 7 m.y.a., then the Chimpanzees, about 5 m.y.a. All animals share a common ancestor if you go back far enough. Fossil and D.N.A. & R.N.A. evidence prove this beyond dispute! We share at least 98% of the same genes as Chimpanzees. Study human evolution and comparative primatology!

We didn't evolve from those apes, we derive from a common ancestor about 5-7 million years ago.

The way I understand it, the whole human evolution thing isn't that we evolved from apes, but that humans and apes( and other primates) have a common ancestor.

we evolved to fit into a natural environment like all apes did ,
our niche was by the sea in caves, where we progressively used new tools to catch fish and defend ourselves , the cleverest ones survived longest and had more children, survival of the fittest!
we needed more brainpower to live there and eat from the sea.
then we rapidly spread from Africa all the way to Australia (which used to be joined onto the same landmass due to the sea-level being lower)
other primates survived until today not needing to use tools to catch there food

apes have evolved too. Present day apes are different from their ancesters 50,000 years ago.

It only takes one to start a new species. Evolution is not a predictable process and new species live alongside existing ones, unless thay have the will and ability or both to destroy the other.

firstly let me clear myself that we are not evolved from apes.. the reasons are....
1.if we are evolved from Apes ,theirs and ours digestial, nervous, reproduction, respiratory system should have something in common.. but i don think so...
2.animals have or use only three senses.. but if we are evolved from apes ,where did we get extra 3 senses...
there are many more points ,but i need reasons to validate it...
