Quicksand is a mass of very fine sand comprising smooth grains that do not adhere to each other. Water usually flows up through the pores, resulting in the formation of an extremely unstable mass that yields readily to pressure.
Like any other layer of the ground, it has a definite bottom.
Once somebody is in quicksand, it requires external help to come out. But I heard one can swim across it (never tried it) - and I guess it is possible.....

think of quicksand as a really thick puddle of mud.... there is a bottom to it, and most quicksand is only a foot or two deep at most. it is very rare to find quicksand that is deep enough to swallow someone.

it can still be dangerous because its very hard to get out of it, even if its only two feet deep. most animals will die, not from drowning in it, but from starvation because they cant get out.

ironically, the very best way to get out is to pour water on the part thats holding your legs/feet. adding water loosens up the sand and allows you to get out. if you dont have water with you, it will be a lot tougher... you can try pulling yourself out, but its not likely that will work because the suction is really strong. you could try digging yourself out, but that may not work either. just remember to keep a water bottle with you.

quick sand is essentially a pond with lots of sand, so yes there is a bottom. the reason things sink in it is because of all the water between the sand particles, which make it like really thick heavy water or mud. the best way to get out is to lie as flat and still as possible so you have more surface area and wont sink as quickly.

yes.. of course it have a bottom and it's soil.. quick sand is just some very soft mud. beause our density is heavier than the quick sand, we tend to sink in to the bottom and drown. then what happens down there is that the dead body will decay and that's the end of the story..

there's a way to get out..
"shout for help"

if you are lucky enough, you probably will get some one to save you or find some "rope" and pull yourself out of it..
