I was stationed in Monterey. It was paradise. But very expensive. I could never afford to live there, other than on base. You pretty much have to make six figures to get by in any of the nice parts -- although the desert is much cheaper if you like that kind of thing.

Over priced, stressful and over regulated with lousy schools, high taxes and high crime rates. That's why I left there.

I left there, cuz the ground kept "rolling" and "shaking" on me....LOL !!!
