Political correctness is pushed upon us by groups who claim to have the goal of bringing everyone together, when in fact political correctness emphasizes the differences in people and creates conflict.
The people who claim to be uniters don't really want peace and harmony in society, that would end their lucrative business of "bringing everyone together". The goal of PC is to divide, not unite.

Absolutely. It is infringing on our freedom of speech, religious preference, opinions on sexual orientation, and the role of the family in society (which by the way as a result of political correctness is deteriorating), and every subject is becoming "taboo".

Definitely and it is ruining this site also. If people are muffled and cannot speak what they really think, how will issues ever be resolved. They won't, issues will simmer away and finally one day there is an explosion where someone gets hurt.

It is ruining it, and it has been going on for a long time, remember when it was waiter or waitress, now it's "server". Don't say garbageman or mailman, say "sanitation engineer" and "postal carrier." I think the worst example was when they wanted to change "pet owner" to "pet caretaker" because they felt that as a "pet owner" gave you license to do whatever you wanted to your pet. Talk about ridiculous.

YES! It's just getting way out of hand! Why do we have to walk on eggshell's around any minority and watch what we say but when it comes to white people rich or poor they can say what ever they want. I don't think it will last to much longer thou. Enough people are going to get sick enough to stop all the stupid crap.

whilst a individual has to observe each thing they say or do for worry of "insulting" somebody to the element the place one individual complains, as an occasion, that an annual holiday to verify a Christmas play is irrelevant because of the fact the play includes Santa Claus, there's a considerable subject whilst the college cancels that play because of the fact of that ONE individual who complained, then specific, it fairly is long previous way too some distance. considering that whilst did we not purely say (happening the comparable tale) "in case you do not % your new child seeing the play, do not deliver the new child to verify the play" and bypass on with the holiday? specific, computing device has brought about way too many issues for this country besides as many different international locations who're having comparable subject concerns. we ought to bypass previous it. in this country you won't be able to declare or do issues that others could be offending to somebody else. The clerks at shops won't be able to declare "Merry Christmas" because of the fact they could be insulting somebody who isn't celebrating... CHRISTMAS on the CHRISTMAS holiday journeys. they don't sell Christmas timber anymore, they sell holiday timber. little ones won't be able to play tag on the college playground anymore, because of the fact Johnny could by twist of destiny touch Mary and lord is acquainted with that it is irrelevant. infants are being charged with crimes for hugging their instructors because of the fact the new child (god forbid) rested his head on the lecturers chest as he hugged her. GASP those all take place consistently, and issues like that, and greater, are growing to be worse all of the time.

It sure isn't helping. I can't believe that Southwest Airlines is apologizing for profiling. On that same matter, I can't believe that airport screeners are making 80-year old grannies and uniform-wearing soldiers take their shoes off.

Yes it is. You can't say anything derogotory about blacks/latinos/gays/lesbians/liberals/women/poor people but when anyone wants to say anything about the rich or white it's fair game.

Yes. Most definitely.
Example: My fiancee is a teacher. Teachers are no longer allowed to call sitting crossed-legged "Indian style." They have to call it "sitting with your legs crossed." I really don't like that.
