When me and my husband were having sex last night I had this severe pain in the lower left part of my abdomen. We had to stop having sex because it hurt so bad and even after we had stopped my stomache was still hurting. Has anyone ever experienced this before? What could it be?

I had a baby 3 months ago but I don't think this has anything to do with it. We've had sex before this and it has NEVER hurt that bad.

You're not going to like the possible causes.....just because they aren't the most attractive things to think about. =D

First off, it could fecal matter/trapped gas in your intestinal tract that was pushed into nerve(s), further compressed by the....ummm....well, you know, the 'thrusting action', and stayed in it's new painful position until it was able to disperse a bit. Sorry, but it happens.

Secondly, it could be an ovarian cyst, which are quite common. I had one THE SIZE OF A GRAPEFRUIT and I had no idea, but my significant other's rather ample uhhh....well, his larger than average Johnson (you know what I mean) was hitting things internally that the lovely ovarian companion had displaced. But that pain was sharp and stopped immediately after he did.

Either way, it wouldn't hurt to check with your OB/GYN. It's a legitimate concern for the health of your relationship, if nothing else. Sexual challenges will eventually cause sour grapes no matter how hard we try to prevent it.

I wish you the best and hope you find the solution quickly!
=)

Yes i have had pain during sex, gynecologist said i had endometriosis, i had a child baby 17 mths ago and pain has been gradually creeping back making it uncomfortable again, go see your doctor and get a referral to the gynecologist, try different positions while waiting for an appointment, here's a link with details www.womens-health.co.uk/endo.asp

I have the same problem. My husband and I just need to be careful not to get too aggressive during sex. My doctor said it was nothing to worry about. However, I have never had a child before. I hope this helps.

Pain throughout the primary trimester can quite simply be brought about by way of the frame adjusting to the being pregnant - your cervix has to near tightly, and your coxix bone will transfer very very moderately. Personally, I had agony from intercourse, considering the fact that I used to be dry from the hormone difference (my health practitioner defined to me whilst I requested him a couple of days later). You must without doubt inform your health practitioner although to rule out different issues.

If this is as all unusual, go to see your doctor ob/gyn as you dont want to risk future baby problems!
Is it possible that there could be a slight inflamation of your appendix? Again, you need a medical opinion, not one off of here as you cannot rely on peoples medical expertise. Good Luck!

Ohhhh.... I unfortunately know exactly what your talking about, It took me over a year to drag myself to the doctor, When I finally did it was scar tissue... I 'm not sure if this helps you but it definitely fixed me.

Hope you get the help you need.

Good Luck

cyst on the ovary - can be removed by means of a laparoscopy (excuse the spelling of the word - unsure)

I have never had pain like that. I would go see your gynecologist - it might be a serious problem.
