i dont want to get married or have kids or have a gf again are they just talking?

Sounds like a guy who just got out of a bad relationship (doesn't want a gf again). As soon as he meets the right woman, he'll be singing a different tune.

They have probably been hurt and they don't want to get hurt again give them time if nothing changes move on.

At that moment, they feel that way. They coyu;ld easily switch back, or not. If they say what they say and you are interested but they are not, move on....or don;t.
