how does of mice and men have archetypes?
as in archetypal heroes?
and what about stereotypical characters?

One of my opinions is that it shows, that all creatures great and small are the same in essence, and can be both hero and villan, powerful and weak, good and NOT, all within the same entity.

Don't remember much about that book now.

The big guy (what was his name?) was definately the stereotypical big, dumb oaf. If it had been george who was the simpleton who wanted only to tend the rabbits, being looked after by the big guy, it would have been very unusual don't you think? That's because there's a pattern of the big brawny guy in books or movies also being mentally impaired in some way, and also being a big friendly giant as well for that matter
