Absolutely not! You don't want to wait to have that tree produce some awesome apples. Bury her now ... but do make sure she's dead otherwise they tend to just dig themselves out and you have to start all over again.

There are a few things to consider here..First, are you, your wife, and (your children???) comfortable with having a grave in your back garden. Second, how would your mother-in-law feel if you were to sell the house someday. and, Third...yes, you have to wait until she's dead ;)

If she's cremated you can scatter her ashes anywhere, but most states do not allow for human remains to be buried anywhere but cemeteries.
In the meantime, just remember she gave birth to your wife and without her you wouldn't have found Miss Right.
